O Sporting Clube de Portugal é um clube multi-desportivo português, fundado em 1906. Nas diversas modalidades presente, é o clube português que mais títulos conquistou e o segundo com mais títulos na Europa. Nos mais de cem anos de história do clube, já se praticaram 34 modalidades, sendo que 12 encontram-se suspensas ou foram extintas. Conhecido principalmente pela equipa de futebol, desporto de maior projecção nacional, o Sporting é um dos três clubes mais importantes do país.

Pedro Barbosa: "Sporting want to party the title in Alvalade"

Pedro Barbosa was the representative of Sporting in the draw of the League 2008/09. The leader began by leaving a brief comment on what the fate dictated to his team.

"There are big games at the start of the race. The beginning of the League is promising. The Sporting wanted to start and finish at home and that vai happen. We will want to make the party the title in Alvalade", said the former footballer, who confessed "high expectations" for the new season.
