The Sporting SAD had losses of 13.349 million euros in 2008/09, against 597 thousand euros of profit that was shown in the same period last year.
The Administration of Sporting explains, in a statement sent to the CMVM, operating results also were reduced by EUR 7.6 million (from 2.563 million euros from 9.391 positive negative) "result of the sharp increase in depreciation and impairment losses with passes of players and the lack of income from sales of players".
