The Sporting was defeated this Wednesday, in Alvalade, at Barcelona by 5-2 in the fifth game of the day the Champions League. It is the worst defeat of "lions" at home in European competitions since the previous records were the worst misfortune with Spartak and Genclerbirligi, both by 3-0.
Miguel Veloso(65) and Liedson(66) marked the scenes of "lions", while Messi(14 and 49), Krkić(73, penalty) and Polga(18) and Caneira(67) did the goals of the Barcelona.
The Catalans guarantee the first place in Group C.
